Portsmouth Citadel Band is amongst the most well known of all Salvation Army Bands, establishing itself very early on in its existence, as a group of muscians striving for the very highest of standards.It was amongst the first Salvation Army Bands to broadcast and has produced many recordings; it has travelled widely in Europe and the USA. all in the desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus. 2005 saw the band celebrate its 125th anniversary and to this day it is still unchanged in its aims and is maintaining those high standards it has set itself during those 129 years. It is first and foremost a group of Christian musicians striving to use their talents as God would have them do.
